Today we are delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees to the HighTide Board, Kate Harvey and Matthew Webb. Both are leading arts voices based in the East of England, who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the organisation, supporting the mission to develop productions and programmes, and enabling more diverse communities to engage with theatre and storytelling in the East of England.
Kate is Senior Producer at Artichoke producing large scale works in the public realm including the Lumiere Festivals and the iconic London 1666 commemoration on the River Thames. Her producing work for other companies includes Robert Wilson’s Walking for NNF as part of the Olympic Cultural Festival and artists including performance artist Mem Morrison and poet and broadcaster Luke Wright. Kate also works as a consultant with Bonnar Keenlyside.
Kate said ‘I am delighted to join the board of HighTide at such a pivotal time for the arts sector and contribute to the vision of the company to create new work with diverse voices for and with audiences and artists in East Anglia’
Matthew is a career management consulting, digital & governance professional, based in Cambridge, and Executive Director & Trustee for the Cambridge Film Trust which delivers the film festival & year-round events. Over the past two decades Matthew has helped transform more than 30 leading organisations through projects and programmes spanning culture, sports, healthcare, government & public sector, education & publishing, financial services, energy, media & telecommunications.
Matthew said ‘HighTide has made an outstanding contribution to the arts landscape in East Anglia and throughout the UK. This has been even more pronounced during 2020-2021. HT’s innovative Lighthouse & Lighthouse Legacy programmes, under the executive leadership of Suba Das, and Rowan Rutter, and Board leadership of Tim Clark, Leah Schmidt, and Liz Fosbury, have supported 250 artists from a multitude of backgrounds, and at all stages of their career.
A further 700+ school students and young people participated in the Lighthouse Engagement projects. This cohesive and collective community response will be vital as we emerge from the pandemic. I’m thrilled therefore to be joining this exceptionally talented team, committed to working with the most exciting writers, reaching out to communities in East Anglia and helping to level access to the arts, whilst continue to deliver critically-acclaimed nationally touring shows.’
