In a changing political landscape here and internationally what does it mean to create political theatre? How do we position ourselves and our work? How do we respond to changing political trends? What are our responsibilities as playwrights to question and challenge dominant political narratives? What and how are the stories we need to tell? And who are we talking to?

Drawing on her own work, (in particular, her current adaptation of Brecht’s ‘Fear and Misery of the 3 rd Reich’), award winning ND playwright Nicola Werenowska will explore how she has engaged with the political in different ways in her own practice, encourage group discussion around this subject and invite participants to take part in individual & group writing exercises.
