Waltham Forest HighTide Writers Academy Presentation
Supporting emerging and new playwriting talent is at the core of HighTide. The HighTide Academy is our scheme for young writers aged 25 and under who have a passion for writing and a strong interest in making a career of it. This year, we have implemented multiple HighTide Academies to reach a number of budding playwrights.
With the festival being presented in Walthamstow for the first time this year, we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to run a Waltham Forest Writers Academy, aimed at first time and early stage writers from the borough.
Following a workshop run in the borough led by HighTide Associate Director Andrew Twyman, each writer has been invited to submit a short play to HighTide. A selection of these plays have been chosen to be performed as rehearsed readings at our Academy Presentation. The plays will be performed by young people from across the borough, led by Sarah Chase of Grow Your Own Theatre.
Join us for the Academy Presentation which will showcase some of the work that has come out of our HighTide Academy scheme. This is an exceptional opportunity to support young local talent, and to see brand new work by brand new writers, presented for the very first time.
