HighTide shows always explore big ideas in politics, society and science. Inspired by the presentational format of In Fidelity, we have invited some eminent guests to give short talks on subjects that they are passionate about.

Therese is the Member for Suffolk Coastal and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Humphrey Burton on arts programmes and television

Humphrey Burton Event

Humphrey Burton is a television presenter, broadcaster and producer who has enjoyed an extensive career in television and music for the BBC and ITV. Humphrey’s work in television included his appointment as the inaugural Head of Music and Arts at the BBC, before moving on to create and present hit television shows Aquarius and Omnibus. Humphrey is also a biographer of musicians and has published biographies of Menuhin and Bernstein.

Greg Mosse on playwriting

Greg Mosse (www.gregmosse.com) is a ‘writer and encourager of writers’. He has published drama, fiction, non-fiction and screenplays, is the founder of the Criterion New Writing playwriting program at Piccadilly Circus, teaches at Chichester Festival Theatre, curates the Southbank Centre Creative Writing School and is a regular with Guardian Masterclasses. Recent theatre productions include Who Cares and Self-Help, specially written for 19+ actors; a World War I musical collaboration Number 60 to the Somme; a Christmas musical Daisy & Marvin Save the Day. He is lucky to often collaborate with his wife, best-selling author Kate Mosse.

Dennis Stevenson on mental health

Dennis Stevenson

Dennis Stevenson is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist.  His career has seen him sit as the non-executive director for BskyB, J. Rothschild Assurance and currently, Waterstones. He has been Chairman for a variety of organisations including for Aldeburgh Music from 2002-2012. Dennis is also a vocal campaigner for better understanding and treatment of mental illnesses and was the Founding Chair of MQ: Transforming Mental Health, a charity that supports the advancement of research on understanding and treating mental illnesses. In 2013 he introduced the Mental Health (Discrimination) Bill which is now on the Statute book.
