John is an actor and writer from Thurrock, Essex. He studied drama at the University College of North Wales and acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. His acting career started with Young People’s Theatre, working on devised pieces which then toured. He then worked at the Royal National Theatre and regional theatres around the UK. Television credits include the EastEnders, Coronation Street and Doctor Foster.
His first play, REAP, was short-listed for the Bruntwood Prize and selected for the Arcola Theatre’s PlayWROUGHT festival. His play Spiderfly was included in the Park Theatre’s Script Accelerator Scheme and was supported by Old Vic New Voices. It was produced by Metal Rabbit at Theatre503 in November 2019 and is published by Nick Hearn Books. John was a BRIT Program Guest Artist at University of South Florida in 2019, where his commissioned version of Emma by Jane Austin was performed.
