Faraway Forest Schedule:
Meet the HighTide team in the Faraway Forest as we look to hear from and share thoughts with artists and audiences about the future of theatre in the East of England; how we make it, who we make it with and where we share it. Throughout the weekend, we’ll be convening sessions on the below topics with the HighTide team and Associate Artists. We’ll also be inviting you to sign up to our network so we can stay in touch long after we depart the forest, sharing with you exclusive opportunities to connect with HighTide as an audience member and as an artist.
We can’t wait to meet you!
HighTide’s mission is to develop productions and programmes that engage diverse communities with new theatre writing in the East of England. We work in partnership locally and nationally year-round to co-produce and tour productions and celebrate our home; and we are committed to innovation and inclusion to widen engagement and raise the quality of their work. Our vision is of an East of England where everyone has the opportunity to share or encounter their story without prejudice and with joy.
Writing new theatre work, where to start?
Join HighTide to discuss how you can create new work, ask your burning questions about playwriting and hear from a leading new writing company on how you can progress your writing. We also invite you to share your thoughts on how we can support you and your development as a writer in the East of England.
Watching new writing in the East of England
As arts lovers and audience goers in our beautiful region, we want to hear from you about the kind of work you want to be watching, where you want to watch it and how HighTide can help make this happen. Join us for a conversation about all things new theatre writing and how we can create joyful experiences for audiences across East Anglia.
Creatives in Conversation
Come and hear from creatives across a number of theatre roles about how they work with new plays and collaborate with other artists. Across the weekend we’ll be joined by Writers, Directors, Actors, Producers & Youth Theatre Practitioners who will demystify what they do and share their expertise.
Finding and Building my Artistic Network
We invite you to join our theatre network as we discuss tips and advice for building a network that will benefit your practice and development as an artist. The session will provide an opportunity for you to sign up to HighTide’s network where you will receive opportunities to get involved with HighTide and invitations to exclusive online events over the coming year. *Sunday’s session will be led in partnership with Queer House. Join Yaz Zadeh @ The Queer House to talk about finding and creating a queer team around you and the different networks you can use to make important connections.
