Alan Broadbent

Alan Broadbent was born in New Zealand and in 1966 received a Downbeat Magazine Scholarship for Berklee College of Music, also studying with piano great Lennie Tristano at that time. He is now recognised as one of the world’s leading jazz artists with credits as impressively far-ranging as Charlie Haden, Diana Krall, Nelson Riddle, Natalie Cole, Woody Herman, Johnny Mandel, Paul McCartney and an iconic partnership with Irene Kral. He has won two Grammys as an arranger for Natalie Cole and Shirley Horn and been nominated seven other times. This year will see the release of The Alan Broadbent/ Georgia Mancio Songbook and the Abbey Road/London Metropolitan Orchestra recording of Developing Story his concerto for jazz trio and orchestra
