Cal-I Jonel
Cal-I Jonel is a London-based playwright, actor and composer creating bold, character-driven work for stage and screen. His play No More Mr Nice Guy premiered in 2024 and toured nationally, earning an OFFIE Award nomination, while There’s a Mouse in the Kitchen was shortlisted for the Tony Craze Award. He has been seed-commissioned by Talawa Theatre Company and Camden People’s Theatre, and was selected for the Soho Writers’ Lab.
His work blends humour, music and psychological tension to explore identity, masculinity and the complexities of human connection, often centring Black British Caribbean perspectives. He is currently developing new plays alongside original television projects.
