Face to Face: Charles Spencer with Michael Billington

23rd February 2016
HighTide Festival 2016

Charlie Spencer is known as one of the UK’s longest serving and most successful theatre critics.

Starting his career with the Surrey Advertiser, The Evening Standard, The Stage and the London Daily News, Charles then joined the staff of the Daily Telegraph in 1988 and was appointed lead Theatre Critic in 1991 when he retired in 2014. Charlie has also published three crime novels: I Nearly Died; Full Personal Service; and Under the Influence.

We’re delighted to welcome Charlie to speak with The Guardian’s lead theatre critic Michael Billington at the intimate Aldeburgh Bookshop.

This event is part of HighTide’s Face to Face programme at HighTide Festival 2016, a series of special talks and events with world-class artists.

Running Time: 45m no interval.
