Face to Face: Christopher Hampton with Kate Mosse

Christopher Hampton is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter who biggest success is renownedly his play and film Dangerous Liaisons, adapted from the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses for which he won an Academy Award.

Christopher‘s debut play When Did You Last See My Mother? premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in 1964 whilst he was still at University, and then transferred to the West End. More recently, Christopher is known for his film adaptation of Ian McEwan’s Atonement in 2007, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.

Christopher will discuss his career as one the nations’s most successful writers with novelist and HighTide supporter Kate Mosse.

Kate Mosse is one of the most successful British writers of our time, best known for her multi-million Languedoc Trilogy – Labyrinth, Sepulchre and Citadel – as well as for her Gothic Fiction and with her husband, writer Greg Mosse, is working on stage and film versions of The Winter Ghosts and The Taxidermist’s Daughter. Her non-fiction includes The House: Behind the Scenes at the Royal Opera House and Chichester Festival Theatre at Fifty. The Co-Founder of the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, Kate is Deputy Chair at the National Theatre. Her new series of historical novels, The Burning Chambers Trilogy – set against the background of French Wars of Religion – will publish from 2018. We are thrilled to welcome Kate back to HighTide as part of our annual line of Face to Face events.
