HighTide at Latitude: Lit and The Faraway Forest

Come and join us at this year’s Latitude Festival. We’ll be presenting a screening of Sophie Ellerby’s LIT in association with Nottingham Playhouse, including an accessible performance.
LIT will be screened at the following times:
Thursday 22nd July 2021, The Ballroom, 19:00 – 20:30
Friday 23rd July 2021, Theatre Arena, 23:00 – 00:30
Saturday 24th July 2021, The Ballroom, 20:00 – 21:30
About LIT
The problem with love is that it’s different for everyone. For Bex, love is a handjob in detention and the promise of a date at a Chinese buffet. She doesn’t even like Chinese.
LIT explores the turbulent teenage years of a girl looking for love in all the wrong places, and reunites director Stef O’Driscoll with rising star Eve Austin – reprising her role as Bex following a nomination for Best Actress in a New Play (Broadway World Awards).
LIT is a filmed play. It contains depictions of and references to sex and sexual violence, rape of a minor and underage pregnancy. It also contains themes of sexism, misogyny, the foster and care system and the adoption system.

Also come and meet the HighTide team in the Faraway Forest as we look to hear thoughts from artists and audiences about the future of theatre in the East of England; how we make it, who we make it with and where we share it. Throughout the weekend, we’ll be convening sessions on a range of topics concerning new theatre and playwright development.
