The Theatre Green Book has become the UK’s gold standard guide for how to make climate careful theatre.
Because HighTide is a touring theatre company (and we don’t run our own venue), the Theatre Green Book chapter we use is the one about making environmentally responsible productions. We highly recommend all theatre makers and producers read it and work within its framework.
We have found that the artistic practice of Climate Dramaturgy – naming and championing environmental action in every creative conversation, from the very beginning of a project – enables effective, artist-led use of the Theatre Green Book.
