Climate Conversations – a Climate Dramaturgy research report

The term Climate Dramaturgy was first developed by our Artistic Associate, Zoë Svendsen, when working with Clare, our Artistic Director, at the Donmar Warehouse in London in 2021-22.

Zoë conducted an 18-month research project, working with hundreds of freelance creatives and production staff, plus the Donmar’s whole staff team.  She asked them:  “What do you need to enable more climate careful theatre making?”  From here, the artistic practice of Climate Dramaturgy was born.

You can read the full research report here.

On our various Climate Dramaturgy pages you can learn about how we at HighTide have adopted and adapted the research learnings to suit our scale, and how we integrate it into the framework of the Theatre Green Book.
