HighTide Comedy Night 3:

Evelyn Mok, Mawaan Rizwan, Birthday Girls with host Fin Taylor

Fin Taylor

Fin Taylor has made a name for himself as one of the most talked about comedians working in the UK. His successive Edinburgh shows Whitey McWhiteface and Lefty Tighty Righty Loosey were 5 star sell-out runs, and cemented his reputation as a fiercely funny and uncompromising social commentator. He went on to appear on Comedy Central’s ‘Roast Battle’ and ‘Live From the Comedy Store’ as well as making his own series for the Channel, “Fin Taylor plays Bullshit Bingo”.

“The most discussed, and critically lauded comedian of recent Edinburgh Fringes” ★★★★★ The Scotsman

“Gleefully provocative and packed with big hard laughs” The Guardian

Evelyn Mok

Featured on ‘Chris Ramsay’s Stand-Up Central’ (Comedy Central), Rhys Darby’s Comedy Blap ‘Furious Andrew’ (C4) and BBC’s New Talent Hotlist 2017, Evelyn Mok is the best thing to come out of Sweden since… IKEA?
Fresh off her Soho Theatre run, her “powerful debut” (Chortle) ‘Hymen Manoeuvre’ was “a refreshing hour of finely crafted stand-up” (★★★★ The Skinny) garnering her favourable mentions by Sarah Millican and Graham Norton, and winning her ‘Best Comedy Newcomer’ at The Pleasance’s Indies Awards.
Living up to her Time Out ‘One to Watch’ nod, this talented comic “proves herself to have an ambition, originality and wit that augurs well”  (The Times).

Mawaan Rizwan
Mawaan is an actor, writer and comedian. He starred in six part ITV series Next of Kin as well as BAFTA-winning Murdered By My Father. He’s written for the New York Times and his comedy videos on YouTube have amassed over 18 million views. Mawaan has also supported Simon Amstell on tour with his unique hybrid of confessional stand-up and skilful physicality.

Birthday Girls
Circuit favourites Birthday Girls delight audiences with their unique blend of high-energy sketch comedy, pumping music and try-hard dancing. The trio have recently recorded their own podcast, Birthday Girls’ House Party, for BBC Radio 1, and have also appeared in BBC1’s Absolutely Fabulous, ITV2’s elevenish and BBC Radio 4’s Sketchorama. Their five star rated shows Party Vibes and Shit Hot Party Legends have enjoyed sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre.

‘A different class… This is joy’ ★★★★★ The Skinny
