WALEED AKHTAR is an actor, writer, director and maker.

He is a MGC Futures bursary winner 2021. His most recent piece as a writer/performer ‘SHOLAY ON THE BIG SCREEN’ was commissioned by Off Stage Theatre as part of a lockdown project for the elderly supported by The Bush. He co-created I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO at the Vault Festival 2020 (Evening Standard Pick of the Fest) about race and climate change. His short film LOST PARADISE was produced by UK Film Council and he has contributed material for BBC Radio 4’s Sketchtopia and Newsjack.

Waleed’s acting credits include Salmon Fishing In The Yemen (Kudos), Cruella (Disney), The Great (Hulu), Three Girls (BBC). While on stage he has worked extensively  in new writing for theatres including The Birmingham REP,  Chichester Festival Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse and the Park Theatre. He is also a member of the Actors for Human Rights Network and a seasoned comedy improviser.
