James McDermott’s plays published by Samuel French include ‘Jab’ (Finborough Theatre), ‘Time & Tide’ (Park Theatre/East of England tour; Offie nominated for Best New Play; longlisted for the Bruntwood) and ‘Rubber Ring’ (Pleasance Islington/UK Tour; winner of Pulse Festival’s Suitcase Prize). James’s other plays include ‘Ghosted’ (St George’s Theatre Great Yarmouth/Out There Festival), ‘Robin Good: The Politico-Panto’ (Norwich Playhouse), ‘Senseless’ (Norfolk & Norwich Festival) and the relocation to East Anglia of Mark Crawford’s Canadian comedy ‘The Birds and The Bees’ (New Wolsey/East of England tour). James is one of the writers on ‘EastEnders’, teaches playwriting for the National Theatre’s New Views Programme and lectures in creative writing at the University of East Anglia.
