We are thrilled to welcome 5 new Associate Artists to the HighTide Team. Our Associate Artists, alongside HighTide Associate Director Andrew Twyman, will work with our next batch of First Commissions writers on developing 6 new plays over the course of the next 18 months. We are very excited to be working with these talented directors and look forward to seeing how the plays develop with their guidance. Read more about our Associate Artists below.
Rosy Banham

Tinuke Craig
Tinuke Craig trained as a director at LAMDA. Directing includes: I Call My Brothers at the Gate Theatre; Red Sky at Night for Pentabus / Latitude Festival; dirty butterfly at the Young Vic; Market Boy and Busters at Mountview Academy; Waiting for Lefty at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
As an assistant/associate director her work includes wonder.land at the National Theatre, Hamlet and All’s Well that Ends Well at the RSC; and The Changeling at the Young Vic.
Tinuke was the Gate Theatre’s Associate Director from 2015-2016. In 2014 she was the winner of the Genesis Future Director Award. She is also a selector for the National Student Drama Festival, an associate of the National Youth Theatre, and an Education Associate Practitioner at the RSC.
Ng Choon Ping
Credits include Tamburlaine (Arcola), Crocodiles (Royal Exchange), Macbeth (Central School), Golden Child (New Diorama), Collision and Carla’s Puppet (National Theatre New Views), Snap (Young Vic 5 by 5). Assistant directing includes Chimerica (Almeida and West End), Nut (National Theatre), Bakersfield Mists (West End), and Cyprus Avenue (Royal Court). He was the inaugural recipient of the Royal Exchange Hodgkiss Award for Young Directors.
Eleanor Rhode
Eleanor trained at Mountview and the National Theatre Studio and is a former Staff Director at the National Theatre. In 2009 she co-founded Snapdragon Productions to bring neglected and unknown works to new audiences.
In 2016 Eleanor’s critically acclaimed production of Toast by Richard Bean toured the UK and transferred to 59E59 in New York to open the Brits off Broadway season, where it received Critics’ Choice from Ben Brantley in the New York Times. The show was nominated for Best Touring Production at the 2016 UK Theatre Awards. Eleanor’s other productions for Snapdragon include the world premiere of Teddy by Tristan Bernays and Dougal Irvine (Southwark Playhouse), which won Best New Musical at the 2016 Off West End Awards.
Other recent productions include Frankenstein (Watermill Theatre and Wilton’s Music Hall), Terrorism (Bush Theatre), Beauty and the Beast (Watford Palace Theatre), When We Were Women (Orange Tree Theatre), Toast and Thark (both Park Theatre), Generous, The Drawer Boy, and A Life (all Finborough Theatre).
Her international work includes the world premiere of the musical For All That for Centerstage Theater, Seattle.
Eleanor will direct the world premiere of Boudica by Tristan Bernays for the Globe Theatre in 2017.
Roy Alexander Weise
Roy Alexander Weise is the 19th annual winner of the James Menzies-Kitchin Award and directed his critically acclaimed, sell-out production of The Mountaintop by Katori Hall at the Young Vic. Other directing credits include Primetime for the Royal Court and Stone Face by Eve Leigh at the Finborough Theatre.
